Last week, we had the first formal meeting with the Swedish AI Commission. There, we announced the news that we are adding an expert group of heavyweights:
Börje Ekholm, CEO of Ericsson, Martin Lundstedt, CEO of AB Volvo, Mats Granryd, Chairman of the Board at Vattenfall, Katarina Areskoug, former head of the EU Commission in Sweden, Magnus Tyreman, former Europe head at McKinsey, Katrin Westling Palm, Director-General of the Swedish Tax Agency, and Nils Öberg, Director-General of the Swedish Social Insurance Agency.
Newspaper Dagens Industri was there and reported on this addition, and also took some pictures. As you can see, I have a prominent role in the commission...
Börje Ekholm's Ericsson hosted the meeting, and we were given presentations about their AI work as well as the status in the expansion of 5G. ABB and Vattenfall also gave presentations.
🌍 AI in the nation's interest
Last Wednesday was the day for the conference AI in the nation's interest, with Daniel Akenine (Warp Premium Supporter) as the organizer. I participated in the final panel with the same title as the conference.
300 people in attendance with 1000 people on the waiting list. I loved that audience! They spontaneously applauded the statement that Sweden has produced enough AI pessimists (Tegmark, Bostrom) and now must produce AI evangelists instead.
And then there were AI courses
On Thursday, it was the premiere for my AI course, which I held in cooperation with SN7.
Very fun and skillful participants. Everyone went home with their own GPT (a specially built version of ChatGPT) that they built during the day.
The only snag was that I had caught a cold earlier in the week, and my voice almost disappeared during the day. Which caused problems the next day when I had a two-hour lecture/workshop for Tellus school staff in Enköping.
But with honey water and strong pills, it went OK.
And then there will be an AI course in Uppsala
Next, there is a chance to attend the AI course in Uppsala, this time in cooperation with Idealstad.

The world is experiencing the fastest expansion of renewable energy in three decades. Solar energy accounted for three-quarters of the new capacity. The price of solar panels dropped by nearly 50 percent compared to 2022.

Poverty in the USA has decreased significantly since 1980, with a drop of 27 percentage points. This trend continued during the period 2020-2022, despite the pandemic.

U.S. carbon emissions fell by 1.9 percent during 2023. The use of coal for electricity production decreased to the lowest level in half a century. Investments in solar and wind energy have increased.
