Soon contact lenses should be able to give you a better view in more than one way. Mojo Vision has shown a prototype of its new contact lens that uses Augmented Reality (AR) to put a computer image of what you see in reality.

This means, for example, that you can see arrows on the street that show you the way to your destination. For those with severely impaired vision, the contact lenses can draw out contours of what is in the field of vision and thus make it easier to avoid obstacles.

The contact lenses can put all kinds of digital information directly into the field of view. For example, they should be able to take information from an exercise app and show how far you have run and what heart rate you have. Much of this can already be done with modern mobiles, but with the contact lenses you have your hands free.

Special hardware will be required to send the signal to the lenses, but you control them by just looking at different places on the interface displayed in the field of view.

Mojo Vision has been developing the lenses for five years and is now awaiting approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). If all goes well, the company expects us to be able to buy their lenses in a few years.

The world is better now than ever before!
But most people still have a negative view of the future. We think one important reason is the negative bias in news media. The fact is, negative news gets way more coverage than the positive.

Warp News balances that by delivering fact-based optimistic news.
