☀️ A former landfill in Maryland becomes the perfect site for a community solar farm

Solar power is an effective way of producing clean, renewable, energy, but finding the space for large solar farms, especially in populated areas, can be a challenge. Fortunately for the residents of Prince George’s County, Maryland, they already had a large area of land unsuitable for development yet perfect for a solar farm: an old landfill. 

The Panorama project produces 6.6 megawatts of solar energy, enough to serve 1,000 customers. This innovative use of otherwise unusable land allows residents who may not have the space to install their own solar panels to buy clean energy produced in their own community. By reducing emissions, lowering electricity bills, and repurposing an otherwise desolate stretch of land, this project is a win-win-win in our books!
