The latest example of which comes from the Templar Marine, which has introduced their Torqeedo day boat. The boat is powered by six batteries, lasts for 7 hours, and has the equivalent of 20 horsepower. The design is an ideal green option for water taxis, day boats, and water fleets. 

The company says electric boating comes environmental and comfort benefits: โ€œAt Templar Marine, weโ€™re looking to fulfill the increasing demand from modern boaters for a plug-in, all-electric boating experience, with no sacrifice in comfort and enjoyment.โ€ Sitting in an open-air environment, the quiet, emissions-free nature of electric power becomes even more desirable. Their electric boats come with less noise, no fumes, and the lightweight 5,000 pounds Templar 26 model can be towed behind the average family SUV.
