In solidarity with global climate strike, Patagonia will close its doors September 20th

Companies are slowing beginning to acknowledge the need for greater environmental consciousness in their business practices, but one company has been practicing green corporate responsibility for years and continues to put its money where its mouth is: Patagonia. In keeping with their environmentally oriented business platform, Patagonia will close its doors in honor of the youth climate strike this Friday, September 20th. 

The company has donated millions of dollars to environmental causes and practices green textile production within its own brand. Patagonia’s CEO Rose Marcario was very clear about her reasons for supporting the youth climate strikes started by 16-year-old activist Greta Thunberg: “For decades, many corporations have single-mindedly pursued profits at the expense of everything else — employees, communities and the air, land, and water we all share.
